Hi there!  We are Shelby and Ashley Bishop - proud owners of Higher Ground of the Low Country, Inc.  Our vision for Higher Ground began in 2002.  With a passion for the outdoors and a drive for more, we decided set out for a new adventure - owning and operating our own business.  The business idea quickly evolved into reality over the next 18 months - as we worked fervently on a business plan, finding the perfect lcoation, etc.  

The business was incorporated in March 2003 and the doors opened in April 2004.  The business began in a small 1200 sq ft shop, complete with a beautiful 35' outdoor climbing wall!  After 3 1/2 years at this location, the business was moved to a brand new (nearly 4000 sq ft) space!  The climbing wall didn't move to the new location, but fortunately, found a new home at the local YMCA.

Just this past month (April 2009), Higher Ground began its 5th year in business!  As the owners, we continue to strive to better ourselves and the business each and every day.  We adore our customers and the friendships that we have made through the business.

Morgan enjoys chasing deer on foot, hawking, fishing, camping in Eno hammocks, running, and playing football.  His vibram five fingers make him a monster.
